Near-field communication (NFC), also known as short-range wireless communication, is a short-range high-frequency wireless communication technology, which allows non-contact point-to-point data transmission and data exchange between electronic devices. The technology evolved from contactless RFID (RFID) and was developed by Philips and Sony on the basis of RFID and interconnection technology. Near-field communication is a short-distance high-frequency radio technology that runs within 20 cm of 13.56MHz frequency. Its transmission speed is 106 Kbit/ seconds, 212 Kbit/ seconds or 424 Kbit/ seconds.
