From simple to complex automation task

- May 30, 2019-

For a long time in the past, industrial robots can only perform simple or repetitive tasks, because it is just a mechanical device that programs the program, and the working mode is based on a fixed plan. Nowadays, artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms have made significant progress. Based on the collection and analysis of large amounts of data and knowledge accumulation, machine systems have an intellectual level.

Watson, a cognitive computing system from IBM, is a good example. Watson has opened up a new computing model that can get answers to complex questions through a large number of unstructured data collation analysis. The Watson system includes innovations in information analysis, natural language processing, and machine learning, which are important milestones for computers to have intelligence.

Under the empowerment of artificial intelligence, the robot gains more powerful capabilities. For example, when the AGV mobile robot in the factory carries out material handling, it scans and analyzes the surrounding environment in real time, draws the latest map for navigation, and can identify it in time if the scene changes. Exercising or stopping, thus avoiding accidental collisions.
