Intelligent manufacturing (Intelligent Manufacturing,IM) is a human-computer integrated intelligent system composed of intelligent machines and human experts. It can carry out intelligent activities such as analysis, reasoning, judgment, conception and decision-making in the manufacturing process. By working with intelligent machines, we expand, extend, and partially replace the mental work of human experts in the manufacturing process. It extends the concept of manufacturing automation to flexibility, intelligence and high integration.
When talking about intelligent manufacturing, we should first introduce the "intelligent manufacturing system IMS" international cooperation research program advocated by Japan in April 1990. Many developed countries, such as the United States, the European Community, Canada, Australia, and so on participated in the program. The program plans to invest US $1 billion to implement an initial research program for 100 projects.
There is no doubt that intelligence is the development direction of manufacturing automation. Artificial intelligence technology is widely used in almost every part of manufacturing process. Expert system technology can be used in engineering design, process planning, production scheduling, fault diagnosis and so on. Advanced computer intelligent methods such as neural network and fuzzy control technology can also be applied to product formulation, production scheduling and so on, so as to realize intelligent manufacturing process. Artificial intelligence technology is especially suitable for solving particularly complex and uncertain problems. But it is also clear that the whole process of enterprise manufacturing to achieve intelligence, if not completely impossible to do, at least in the distant future. Some even ask the question: will intelligent automation be achieved in the next century? However, if we can only realize the intelligence in some part of the enterprise and can not guarantee the overall optimization, the significance of this intelligence is limited.
on September 10, 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published a list of pilot demonstration projects for smart manufacturing in 2015, with 46 projects shortlisted. These projects include the pilot of intelligent machine tools declared by Shenyang Machine tool (Group) Co., Ltd., and the pilot project of Intelligent Cloud Manufacturing of Aerospace products declared by Beijing Aerospace Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. 46 pilot demonstration projects covering 38 industries, covering 21 provinces, involving process manufacturing, discrete manufacturing, intelligent equipment and products, are reported by Sinochem Fertilizer Co., Ltd. New model of intelligent manufacturing new business type, intelligent management, intelligent services and other six categories, reflecting the industry, regional coverage and strong demonstration. Shenyang machine tool is also selected in the metal cutting machine tool industry.
In 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched and implemented the "Special Action for pilot demonstration of Intelligent Manufacturing", which is mainly aimed at directly cutting into the key links of manufacturing activities, fully arousing the enthusiasm of enterprises, and paying attention to the growth of pilot demonstration projects. Through breakthrough, effective experience and mode are formed, which are popularized and applied in various fields of manufacturing industry.
Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said at the meeting that intelligent manufacturing is increasingly becoming a major trend and core content of future manufacturing development, and is also an important measure to speed up the transformation of development mode, to promote industrial progress to the middle and high end, and to build a strong manufacturing power. It is also the inevitable choice to create a new international competitive advantage under the new normal. To promote intelligent manufacturing is a complex and huge system engineering, but also a new thing, which needs a continuous exploration, trial and error process, it is difficult to achieve overnight, not to mention rush to achieve. To this end, "to use the pilot demonstration of this important grasp."
